Jericoacoara

YEAR: 2012 / DURATION: 24 MINS / DIRECTORs: Alexandre Bouchet and David Mutzenmacher / PRODUCTION: Yemaya / AVAILABLE VERSIONS: FRENCH

PREVIOUS BROADCASTS INCLUDE: France 3 and JTBC

With its clear blue lagoons and endless white sand dunes, Jericoacoara really is a taste of paradise. The land is largely untouched and the best way to get around is on horseback.

We meet the people of this Brazilian haven; some fell in love with the lifestyle and decided to give up their hectic city lives and stay here, while others were born and bred here and have learnt to share their unique way of life with the many tourists that the town attracts.

Indeed since the town acquired electricity 15 years ago, over 200 hotels have been built. Every year hundreds flock here to experience the culture, and watch the capoeira dancers on the beach as the sun rises in the morning.
