In the last few years 200,000 Africans have immigrated to the thriving urban city of Canton. However in a city only recently opened to the West the local Chinese population can be very prejudiced towards the newcomers, and they have nicknamed Canton, ’Chocolate City’. Despite the important and highly lucrative business relations that have developed between the two communities, many Africans face shockingly racist behaviour in their personal lives. Sadly daily life in Canton is punctuated by constant conflicts and brutal confrontations between the two communities.
