The Pirates’ Tale

YEAR 2009 / DURATION: 26 / DIRECTOR: Kader Bengriba, Romain Hamdane et Mathieu Préaux/

Previous broadcasts include SIC and SPIEGEL

An exclusive Envoye Speciale report on the pirates threatening the coast of Aden.

We visit the Puntland in Somalia, interviewing pirates now in prison. They boast that they are now the “coast guards” of the Puntland and will attack all boats that risk sailing in the Aden Gulf. They also express contempt for the International community. We then accompany a fleet of catamarans to the Seychelles, filming the perspective of the sailors who live every day with the risk of pirate attack.
