Tibet: Children of Exile

Previous broadcasts include SIC

Every year, hundreds of Tibetans cross the Himalayas seeking sanctuary in India. A perilous journey, lasting weeks, to begin a new life in exile. Since the 2008 demonstrations, Chinese authorities have increased controls along the border. The journey is now virtually impossible. We follow the first months of a group of refugees in India; thirty-one exiles, including many children. Under the authority of the Dalai Lama’s "Tibetan government in exile", the children are shaped into Tibetan patriots. They dream of leading what they call a "Tibet free of the Chinese seizure" but will they ever return home?
